Controlling a Remote Display with Freetouch
Freetouch controls a touchscreen just like a trackpad controls a laptop.
Moving the cursor
Touch one finger to your phone's screen and move it. You should see the cursor moving on the display in front of you.
Selecting/Tapping
Move the cursor over the content you wish to select/tap, then tap your phone's screen.
Scrolling
There are three ways to scroll content with Freetouch
Scrollbar
When enabled, a scrollbar will appear on the right-hand side of the phone's display. When enabled:
- Move your cursor over the content you'd like to scroll
- Swipe up and down on this scrollbar to scroll the content up or down
Two-Finger Scroll
In some applications, you can use two fingers to swipe in the direction you want to scroll to scroll content. (Note: not all applications support this method of scrolling)
- Move your cursor over the content you'd like to scroll
- Place two fingers on the phone's display and swipe in the direction you'd like to scroll
Drag-to-Scroll
Follow the instructions below for Dragging Content to grab and drag the content you'd like to scroll.
Dragging Content
First, move the cursor over the content that you wish to drag. Then tap and hold with one finger until the hand icon appears on the remote display. Without lifting your finger up, move your finger to drag the content. Lift your finger up when finished.
NOTE: dragging/scrolling of content is not enabled on all applications.
Zooming/Scaling Content
First, move the cursor over the content which you wish to enlarge/reduce. Then, touch two fingers to your phone screen and pinch to reduce or spread apart to enlarge.
NOTE: Zooming/scaling of content is not enabled on all applications.
Ending a Session
When you are finished with your remote control session, tap "end session" in the upper-right-hand corner of the display to disconnect from the session.
Starting a New Session
If you'd like to start a new control session, simply open your phone's camera app again and snap a Freetouch QR code.
