Freetouch Installation Prerequisites

Freetouch relies on various frameworks and patches provided by Microsoft in order to function. If you are using our .exe installer, these will be installed for you during your initial install. For those of you that wish to install these manually (particularly if you are using our MSI installer, which does not install prerequisites), below is a list of required prerequisites, organized by Windows version.

Windows 10

• Microsoft .NET Core 3.1.7 (minimum) (x64 / x86)
• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2019 (x64 / x86)

Windows 8.1

• Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2975061) (x64 / x86)
• Update for Windows 8.1 (KB2919355) (x64 / x86)
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 (minimum) (x64 / x86)
• Microsoft .NET Core 3.1.x (x64 / x86)
• Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015-2019 (x64 / x86)

Windows 8

• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.1 (x64 / x86)
• Microsoft .NET Core 3.1.x (x64 / x86)

Windows 7

NOTE: There are known issues with the first two KBs on certain Windows 7 systems. If you encounter issues installing these KBs, please see this support article for workarounds.
